Thoughts on the Growing Need for Financial Independence in Today’s Uncertain World

I’ve been thinking a lot about independence the last few days. I’m sure you can imagine why.
In particular I’ve been pondering the idea of financial independence, which is something that has become pretty important to Tracy and I. We’ve both been in situations in the past where our main, and sometimes, sole source of income has suddenly and unexpectedly dried up.
And I can tell you that is not a good feeling. We both sleep a lot better knowing that we have multiple sources of income.
We always make sure that our company has enough cash reserves to make sure we can pay our salaries, pay our affiliates, and pay our independent contractors for the next few months no matter what happens.
All of this helps us sleep better at night and we want the same for you.
One of the best things you can do for yourself, for your family, and for your loved ones is to create multiple streams of income.
Do not rely on your job as your only source of money. With everything we’ve seen and been through the past year and a half, a traditional JOB is no longer a secure and viable model of ensuring you and your family will have what you need.
Yes, savings will help. Reducing expenses will help. But even if you have no debt and your house is paid for, you’ll have ongoing monthly expenses that you need to fund or those emergency cash reserves will dry up.
Income from a blog, coaching, digital products, or any other side hustle you can create will help with that. And combined, those sources of income can replace your full-time job. It’s what we’ve been able to do and we want the same for you.
