Controlling the Flow of Your Money | For Entrepeneurs, Online Business Owners

Hey, everyone… hope you all had a great Christmas! I did a quick video on the money flow mindset. As usual, these thoughts came to me in transit. I was actually out picking up some pet supplies at the time of the idea invasion.

So I had to stop everything, do a quick lip sync of the Bruce song that was playing on the radio as these thoughts were forming, then spit out some money flow gems for you all to think about.

Here’s the summary, if you hate watching videos, which I do:

People in business have a different money mindset than people who have regular jobs, or at least they should if they plan to be successful. The basic idea is that you want to do everything you can to get the money flowing your way.

Do you know what we have that entrepreneurs of past generations did NOT have in terms of controlling their money flow? The internet! This is huge.

Being able to access powerful tech tools to facilitate your money flow is an utter blessing and gift. And any fool who knows a thing or two about a thing or two can create content that shares what they know and begin building their customer base.

You don’t need to be “named” an expert to actually BE an expert. What you do need is experience. Anything that you know and can teach holds huge value to someone who needs that information. So flow the money.

Start talking and sharing. Get some followers and fans. Pull out the stops, to bring the money flowing in.

What’s your basic setup that you need to start flowing the money your way?

  1. Get a PayPal account.
  2. You’ll need to open a business checking account for this, I believe. Or at least you do if you want to have a PayPal business account, which you should. If you have a problem with PayPal, I can’t say I blame you, so maybe try another company, like Stripe. You definitely have options. Just pick one and go with it… see what happens.
  3. Next you really want to start building your list. This is REALLY important. You want to capture people’s email address so that you can show up in their inbox. Why? Because the inbox is where the action happens, where purchases are made and transactions go through.

What do you need to do that?

  • Lots of relevant content that connects you with your ready buyers
  • A list manager that lets you capture leads. Here’s my list manager of choice: Aweber.

Finally, you want to set up your list using Aweber and then create a sign-up form that’s associated with that list. Copy the form code and paste it into your website’s code. Test the form to make sure it works, by signing up for your own list using a junk email address.

Social media is okay, but I still believe with every fiber of my being that if you want the transaction to go through you need to show up on email because that’s the place your future customers will go when they’re ready to whip out those credit cards or log into PayPal and send cash payment.

Okay… more on the video.
